Westminster City Council are pleased to inform residents of Hide Tower that they are planning a range of works to the building.

This is known as a Major Works project, AC116, and consists of planned works, such as repairs or renewal to the outside and communal parts of buildings.

Every resident will have received a letter outlining the proposed works, along with an invite to a residents' meeting to discuss the plans, and to understand more about them, what they involve, and when they're likely to begin.

What is the proposal?

The works will focus mainly on the installation of a rendered external wall insulation system as part of the Council's commitment to delivering important fire safety works on their high rise buildings.

Who is doing the work?

At the start of 2018, WCC entered into a a ten-year partnering contract with two contractors to deliver major works across the city. The contractor appointed to deliver the works in and around your home is United Living.

When will the works start?

The project is at the first stage of the preparatory works, and we do not have exact dates right now. However, based on the current timetable, they would expect United Living to be ready to start these works in January 2023.

WCC will write to update you at each stage by holding meetings, and publishing the relevant documents on their website for resident information.

Major works projects need a considerable amount of organising before they start. There are several stages that need to happen before the works can commence, including formal consultation with leaseholders via a Section 20 Notice of Estimate. WCC have produced a guide to major works in order to explain what to expect at each stage of a project, including their commitment to residents and how residents can help or get involved.

You can read the guide by visiting www.westminster.gov.uk/housing/major-works If you would like a copy of this guide, please get in touch using the details below.

WCC are holding a meeting to discuss the works proposed, ask for resident feedback, answer questions, or address any concerns residents might have.
